Motorola unveiled the Moto Z and Moto Z Force earlier this summer, but the company left out one smartphone in the series, the Moto Z Play. Specs and images of the device had been leaking even before Tech World event, but without any rumors on a release date.

Now it seems that leakster the Malignant has revealed the unveil date for the Moto Z Play, the third phone in the Moto Z series. The handset will make its debut on September 6, but sadly, it’s unknown if it will be made available in other countries beside China.

A store from China has advertised the device, and it’s hard to say at this point if the Moto Z Play will be made available in the US as well, according to Phone Arena. The leakster has also shown that the Moto Z Play will cost about $495 in China, which is certainly less than the price of Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid, released in the US at Verizon.

Moto Z Play could come with Snapdragon 625 and 3GB of RAM

As for its specs, the Moto Z Play is expected to come with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and have a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution, as well as 3GB of RAM and an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor. It could also have a 3.5mm headset jack and be compatible with MotoMods.

Speaking of which, Motorola is expected to release another MotoMod, the Hasselblad camera module, which will enhance the rear camera capacities of smartphones in the Moto Z series. The camera module is said to come with 10x Optical Zoom, a Xenon flash, physical shutter, and zoom lens.

The Hasselblad MotoMod could be unveiled at the same time as the Moto Z Play, but that remains to be seen. The camera module will join the ranks of other modular accessories for Moto Z phones, like the Insta-Share Projector or the TUMI Power Pack.
