Motorola recently posted a video celebrating 44 years since the first mobile phone call. The video pays homage to Motorola’s invention of the cellular phone and shows several flip-phones, as well as smartphones, while one particular model stands out.

Interestingly, one of the smartphones featured in the video appears to be the unannounced Moto X (2017), which leaked in several images recently. It’s worth mentioning that the video only comes in 480p, which makes it quite difficult to distinguish specific details.

However, the antenna lines and a rear loudspeaker on the lower right corner are noticeable on the metal back panel. The front of the smartphone is also visible, resembling the recently announced Moto G5. But the rear camera doesn’t really resemble the rumored dual-camera setup on the back of the Moto X (2017), which is believed to be the main selling point of the new smartphone.

Snapdragon 625 platform and 3GB or 4GB of RAM

Specs for the upcoming Moto X (2017) leaked a few days ago, revealing that the smartphone could run the Snapdragon 625 platform, coupled with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. Internal storage could be 32GB or 64GB, while the phone could have an exciting dual-camera setup on the back. It’s unclear if only one sensor is 13MP or both, but recent reports do agree on a fingerprint scanner in the front.

The video shows another upcoming Moto smartphone, one that has a white back panel, thus hinting towards the rumored Moto Albus. This device is said to have the same specs as the Moto X (2017) codenamed Sanders, with the exception of a 12MP camera on the back. It’s unclear if the two phones portrayed in the video are the actual Moto X (2017) Sanders and Albus, as this information will be confirmed only when the phones are launched later this year.

As expected, Motorola’s anniversary video does feature the brand’s flagship smartphone, Moto Z, and modular accessories, Moto Mods.
