The FCC has just certified two new Motorola smartphones, which appear to be the unannounced Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus. The listing does reveal some details about the new devices, including the fact that the Plus variant will feature a 5,000mAh battery.

Renowned tipster Roland Quandt has recently revealed that Moto E4 Plus will come with a MediaTek processor and a 5,000mAh battery inside. The smartphone’s code number is XT1773, while the E4 was certified with the code number XT1762.

The listing reveals that the standard E4 will feature a much smaller battery capacity than the higher-end E4 Plus, 2,800mAh, and Android 7.0 Nougat pre-installed. In addition, the phone will have just 16GB of internal storage, more than the 8GB of memory on last year’s model. Moto E4 Plus will also feature connectivity options like 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi, aside from dual SIM capabilities.

Moto E4 Plus could have a non-removable battery

The FCC listing also reveals that the Moto E4 Plus might have a non-removable battery, as compared to last year’s Moto E3 and Moto E3 Power which featured removable batteries. In addition, the Moto E4 Plus could also have a removable back cover, possibly for granting access to the SIM card.

Moto’s E belongs to an entry-level range of smartphones with affordable prices. Last year’s Moto E3 Power featured a powerful battery of 3,500mAh, while RAM capacity reached 2GB and internal storage was 16GB. The smartphone had an 8MP rear camera with 5MP in the front, and ran a quad-core 1GHz MediaTek 6735P SoC, coupled with Mali-T720 graphics processing unit. The specs for the standard Moto E3 were roughly the same as for the Power mode, except for the 2,800mAh battery and 1GB of RAM inside.

The Moto E4 and Moto E4 Plus aren’t the only phones that Motorola is working on. A recently leaked logo revealed that the upcoming flagship will be named Moto Z2 and will most likely feature connectivity options with the company’s Moto Mods modular accessories.
