Some developers want to make money with DLCs

Steam allows developers to attach as many DLCs as they want to a game and some studios are really pushing the use for this feature. Here are just three of the most expensive games on Steam, if we count all the DLCs.

Some games that are available on Steam look cheap, but they have a ton of downloadable content, which can often surpass the price of the original title. That's not all that uncommon, but it's not a widespread practice, at least not yet.

Some of the biggest studios and publishers usually release one base game, some DLCs, and a season pass that guarantees users that they will get everything that's going to be released for that title. Other games have a different approach, as you'll see.

How about spending thousands of dollars on a game?

The Sims 3 was released in 2009, and it's been on Steam for a long time. The base price $13.59, but all the DLCs summed up go up to $186. Keep in mind that there is a Steam sale right now and this particular title is heavily discounted.

The next on the list is DEAD OR ALIVE 5 Last Round, which cost $20 right now, with a 50% price cut. If we put all the DLC together, we get up to $407.

The top dog has to be Train Simulator 2016: Steam Edition, which now costs only $7, at a discount. All the DLCs are %55 off, and they cost $1804. The developers have said that they don't expect people to buy them all, but it still feels ridiculous.

We could also mention DCS World, but that's free-to-play, and the DLCs is how they make their money.

It's worth mentioning that the community doesn't seem to be upset by these prices, and all of these games are highly rated on Steam.
