14 DAY TRIAL // Windows 10 will debut next month all over the world, but Microsoft is yet to unveil pricing for all markets that are going to get it, but slowly, the company is sharing such details through various channels.
Today, for example, the Get Windows 10 app that's installed on Windows 7 and 8.1 computers eligible for the free upgrade to the new operating system, received an update that also disclosed pricing information for some specific European markets.
Microsoft Insider reveals that in Spain, Windows 10 could cost no more, no less than €135, while Neowin writes that in the United Kingdom, the new operating system is likely to hit the market with a price tag of 99.99 pounds.
Microsoft says that prices could change before Windows 10 and they will obviously vary by market before the RTM version is ready, but for Europeans, the new operating system still seems to be much more expensive than in the United States.
In Microsoft's home market, Windows 10 will be priced at $119.99 for the Home version and $199.99 for the Pro SKU. At today's currency conversion rate, this means that Windows 10 Home will cost 107 Euros, while the Pro will be available for 178 Euros.
The difference between the United States and Europe is mostly caused by taxes that Microsoft needs to pay in every single country on the Old Continent, and that's one of the reasons the company says that prices may vary. Right now, VAT values in the European Union range from 15 percent to 27 percent, so it's easy to see why Windows 10 will be more expensive in one country than in another.
Windows 10 will debut on July in the majority of countries across the world, with the following localization languages to be offered from launch:
