If you happen to own an Android One smartphone, then you will be pleased to know that Google has already started the rollout of Android 6.0 Marshmallow for these devices.

The search giant announced last month that several Nexus devices would receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update beginning this week.

Although Google did not mention anything about Android One devices, it makes sense that these smartphones should be getting the upgrade around the same timeframe.

We reported earlier today that Spice Dream Uno smartphones should be getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow in India, but AndroidPolice has spotted even more devices that have just started to receive the update.

For the time being, the following Android One handsets in India and the Philippines have been confirmed to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade: Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V, and Spice Dream Uno.

An important update for Android One smartphones

We also expect Google to make Android 6.0 Marshmallow available to Android One smartphones in other countries where these devices have already been launched (Spain, Turkey, UAE).

It appears that the update is about 338MB in size and requires a restart. However, keep in mind that the size of Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade may vary by device, but Spice Dream Uno owners should expect their update size to match the value mentioned earlier.

As expected, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will bring important new features and improvements to the functionality and performance of the device.

This is why we strongly recommend Android One owners to upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow as soon as the update becomes available for download.

Keep in mind that the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might take a while until it reaches all Android One devices.
