The oversized herbivore visited the city over the weekend

Some of you probably got to enjoy a perfectly relaxing weekend, but the moose featured in the video below, now making the rounds on social media, most definitely didn't.

On Sunday, the oversized herbivore made the mistake of venturing on the streets of the city of Manchester in New Hampshire, US. Not used to being surrounded by buildings rather than trees, the poor animal pretty much freaked out.

Then, when a WMUR-TV reporter started following it around in his car, the already confused moose really went bananas and started running around aimlessly, hoping to ditch its pursuer.

Mind you, this moose was quite an athlete

It might be that the moose had no idea where it was, but it sure wanted to get out of there fast. In the video, the animal is seen running so fast that people who train their entire lives for marathons probably couldn't have kept up with it.

At one point, the herbivore, most likely fairly annoyed at the reporter trailing it, jumps over a parked car to get away from its stalker. Luckily, it managed a swift jump and didn't leave be it one dent in the four-wheeler.

Needless to say, Manchester residents were too quite surprised to wake up and find a moose running around their city. After all, it's only so close to nature that one hopes to get while frolicking in the comfort of their home.

“I just think it's a once in a lifetime thing, personally. I think it's pretty cool actually,” a man named Kent Klardie said in an interview. “It was amazing. I was like, ‘Wow, look at that big ol' thing running on the loose,’” added one Geraldine Brown.

Worry not, the moose made it back to the woods

According to local law enforcement officials, the moose didn't stay long in Manchester. Rather, it took the herbivore only a few hours to figure out that maybe city life wasn't all it was cut out to be.

Shortly after having been filmed running around and jumping over cars by the WMUR-TV reporter, the moose was seen going back to its home in the forest.

“Moose was last seen by officers along the power lines heading safely into the woods of Goffstown,” police chief Nick Willard wrote in a Twitter post.
