Monster Hunter: World is getting closer to its release, and the developers from Capcom have decided that it's time for a Beta, and PlayStation Plus users will be the lucky ones to give it a try.

The western world is not exactly up to date with all the craziness surrounding the Monster Hunter franchise, and with good reason. It's been a hit only in Asia and mostly Japan, despite being launched on various platforms.

That's all about to change with the release of Monster Hunter: World, which will be a global event, for multiple platforms, including PC. Capcom is now more than familiar with English ports for their titles, and the game has the potential to be a massive hit.

Testing the monster hunting for online

One of the biggest additions to the franchise is the four player co-op function, not to mention that people from all over the world can play together. This alone requires a little bit of testing for the servers and general interactivity.

Three different monsters in three quests will be available in the Beta, and they include a Great Jagras, an Anjanath, and a Barroth. They are very specific monsters, and they require vastly different approaches. Of course, all of the quests can be tackled alone or with friends, and a wide variety of weapons will be available as well. Some of the mosters have been seen already, but it's going to be an interesting experience for players that don't know anything about this franchise.

It's important to mention that the Beta for Monster Hunter: World is available only for PlayStation 4 and for people with a PlayStation Plus subscription. The Beta will start at 17.00 GMT / 18.00 CET on Saturday, December 9th and will last until 17.00 GMT / 18.00 CET on Tuesday, December 12.

Monster Hunter: World will launch on January 26th, 2018, for all of the major platforms, including PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, along with other variants.
