The Mobile World Congress in Barcelona will host the launch of many flagship smartphones, with powerful performance, big batteries, Full Vision displays, and so on. Mid-range smartphones will also be presented, bringing hardware improvements to predecessor models.

Aside from dual-camera smartphones and fingerprint scanners embedded into home buttons, there’s one phone that has gotten everyone excited. It doesn’t have the latest specs, but it will surely leave a mark.

The iconic Nokia 3310 will be receiving a successor during MWC 2017 and YouTuber Concept creator posted videos detailing what the phone might look like. Keep in mind that this is just the designer’s view, though, and it doesn’t mean that this is how the final product will look.

It retains the design of its predecessor

The video shows the modern Nokia 3310 with almost the same design as its predecessor, but more polished navigation buttons, as well as dialer buttons. It appears to retain the same dark blue color, but a second video shows the phone in red, gold, and light blue variants.

The concept shows the modern Nokia 3310 with a rear camera, tiny 1.5-inch display, built-in radio, microUSB, and 1,650mAh battery. It shows the phone would have 8GB of internal memory and larger body measuring 113 x 48 x 14mm, which would make the successor thinner than the original 22mm Nokia 3310.

The body would be made out of polycarbonate with Linex coating to protect the device from scratches. Obviously, the specs of the phone will be officially revealed on February 26, and until then we can only speculate on its components, design and features. But when it comes to the price of the device, reliable tipster @evleaks revealed that the modern iteration might be sold for $63 (€59).

Whatever the design and specs, fans are surely excited about the new phone, which comes about 17 years after the initial Nokia 3310 was announced. Almost 128 million units of the Nokia 3310 were sold worldwide, so it will be interesting to see how many units the modern version manages to sell.
