It seems that video game developers Telltale Games and Mojang are getting ready to deliver more details about the new Story Mode experience for Minecraft at some point during the coming Minecon event, which will take place on June 4 and 5 in London.

An official Twitter message from the first studio teases the possibility by asking the community to allow them to tell a story and by associating the line with an image about the new event.

Fans are asking what the teaser points to, but Telltale Games is not talking about the way Story Mode will be integrated into Minecraft or the kind of gameplay it will offer.

As the name implies, the experience will be focused on a narrative set in the world of the indie title, which is being created in collaboration with some unnamed members of the community to make sure that it appeals to the fans.

Minecraft: Story Mode will have an episodic structure, as with all other Telltale Games series, and the first one will be introduced in 2015 on the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, the PC, older home consoles, and mobile devices.

Mojang is not aiming to offer a backstory for the protagonist of the game or an origin story for the entire world, instead focusing on an interesting take on the classic mechanics, with the added choices and consequences that have made The Walking Dead series a success with players.

Minecraft will continue to evolve under Microsoft's tutelage

The new Story Mode is not the only way that the universe will expand its reach in the coming months and years.

During the E3 2015 press conference, Microsoft has used the game to demo its new HoloLens augmented reality experience and the showing impressed a lot of players, although it's unclear how much of it is a proof of concept and whether the same experience will be offered to users.

Mojang has also mentioned that more content packs will be launched for Minecraft, and it seems that on the PlayStation platforms, LittleBigPlanet will get dedicated DLC relatively soon.

The development team and Microsoft have not announced whether they have plans to create a full sequel at some point in the future.
