14 DAY TRIAL // Miley Cyrus is featured in the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine, with an interview that touches on a variety of topics, from her upcoming hosting gig at the MTV VMAs 2015 and her Hannah Montana days, to her career goals and why she doesn’t like Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” video.
That last comment in particular got a lot of attention in the media, because it was Miley basically saying that the industry was biased against her as an artist because she was being true to herself, while it praised Taylor as a feminist hero, when she did nothing else but encourage gun violence.
Miley’s not done with the Taylor bashing, Hollywood Life reports.
Miley wants a reaction from Taylor, will get it at the VMAs 2015
Sources close to Miley claim that she’s furious she wasn’t able to get a reaction from Taylor by saying these things about “Bad Blood,” because she loves controversy and was sure she could generate it.
She’s been thinking of new ways she could get Taylor’s attention and has decided on the VMAs, which will take place at the end of the month. As host, Miley will be getting plenty of time on stage, so she’ll be able to insert a Taylor diss wherever she deems it most effective.
That should prompt a reaction from Taylor.
“Taylor is by far her biggest target and Miley is thinking of ways to subtly diss her,” says the spy. “There is bound to be sparks between the two of them that night. Miley is dead set on providing a show that people won’t stop talking about. She will be outrageous, funny, and really push the envelope as long as it shocks people and makes headlines.”
Well, when it comes to pushing envelopes, we can probably all agree that Miley is great at it. The same goes for causing controversies and making headlines.
A feud with Taylor Swift would be tabloid gold
Looking at Taylor Swift’s history with Katy Perry, perhaps a feud with Taylor would be the last thing that Miley should want. Then again, if she thrives on media attention as the above report claims she does, the situation changes.
Taylor and Katy were good friends - best friends, according to reports - for years before their major falling-out. This happened when Katy tried to hire dancers from under Taylor in the middle of an arena tour, causing serious scheduling issues and delays.
Taylor would later admit in an interview that she would have been ok if that former friend of hers (Katy, supposedly) had tried to stab her in the back personally. However, a move to discredit her as an entertainer was unforgivable.
“Bad Blood” is a song believed to have been written for and about Katy. The official music video stars all of Taylor’s celebrity friends and Selena Gomez in a wig that makes her a dead-ringer for Katy.
We might never know if Taylor really did diss Katy in the song and video, but the reality is that she’s banking on the media attention for supposedly so doing. Should she and Miley get in a feud as well, the tabloids would be having a field day with it.
