Miley Cyrus caused a huge controversy at the MTV Video Music Awards 2013, when she showed up for her performance in a nude-colored latex minuscule outfit and proceeded to twerk all over Robin Thicke during their joint performance. This weekend, Miley returns to the VMAs stage.

This time, she has the chance, should she wish to take advantage of it, to do something even more outrageous because she’ll be getting considerably more time on stage, as the night’s official host.

Miley promotes hosting gig on Kimmel

The other day, Miley stopped by Jimmy Kimmel to promote her hosting gig. First off, she showed up on set wearing an ensemble right out of an ‘80s nightmare, complete with a cape and heart-shaped pasties. Whenever she raised her arms, her breasts would show, which, as you can imagine, made Kimmel a bit more than flustered.

She also talked a lot about how humans were afraid of the female breast and reasoned that her outfit was her way of showing her support for the #FreeTheNipple campaign that is still going strong on social media.

She said her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, didn’t “know how to turn on the TV,” so he had no opinion about her sartorial choices and how much of her body they revealed. Still, she said, “he'd rather have me with my [breasts] out and being a good person than rather have my shirt on and be a [expletive].”

Miley takes to the streets undercover

Since Miley has been getting a lot of attention in recent years for her out of the ordinary fashion choices, dubbed by many nothing short of desperate cries for attention, she agreed to go undercover to interview people for Kimmel’s now famous segment I Witness News.

She put on a bad wig and an ill-fitting work suit, did her best Australian accent and proceeded to ask people on the street what they thought of Miley Cyrus, her music and her message to the world now that she’s no longer a Disney girl but a grown-up female artist.

Only one man realized that he was actually talking to Miley in disguise, though it would be hard not to pick up on Miley’s nasal, very specific voice.

Here’s the exchange. It’s funny how Miley plays along with them when they say bad things about her, because perhaps few celebrities would be able to handle this kind of direct criticism.
