The development team at Comcept is announcing that it is officially delaying the launch of Mighty No. 9 into 2016, with devs aiming to deliver it at some point during the first quarter of the year for all backers and other fans.

The studio says that all the core content for the title is at the moment complete and no more actual development work is required.

Comcept adds, in a backer message obtained by NeoGAF, that "However, there are still bugs and issues pertaining to the online features that are included in the game. These bugs and issues have a direct effect on enjoyment of the game, so a decision was made to work these issues out before release."

The team is promising that it is moving as fast as possible in order to solve all the problems that are affecting Mighty No. 9 and it will continue to offer details about the process.

Backers will also be consulted about the platforms on which the title will be offered once a final launch date is announced by the development team, which might happen during the Gamescom 2015 event that runs until the end of this week.

Initially, Mighty No. 9 was supposed to arrive earlier in the year and was delayed into September, and the announcement that it will now be launched during the first quarter of 2016 will annoy fans and backers.

Keiji Inafune aims to deliver an updated take on the Mega-Man concept

The legendary developer has launched the Kickstarter for Mighty No. 9 promising the community that he is aiming to offer a new take on the classic Mega-Man concept.

The project received massive backing from fans and Comcept said it would aim to launch the game as quickly as possible while also making sure that the quality level did not disappoint.

While Mighty No. 9 is in development, the same team has also launched a Kickstarter effort for a spin-off Red Ash game, which failed to secure funding.

Inafune suggested that he was interested in creating an entirely new universe that could produce a variety of titles, but the new delay will not be a good sign for the backer community.
