The development teams at Comcept and Inti Creates and publisher Deep Silver are ready to announce that they are aiming to launch their long-awaited Mighty No. 9 on February 6 of next year in North America and on February 12 in the rest of the world.

The official announcement explains that the reveal comes after the companies have managed to eliminate all the problems that were linked to the online modes of the game.

The companies add, "We are looking forward to delivering this game to our fans, especially all of our backers! Thanks again for all of your support and patience!"

Some new gameplay footage from Mighty No. 9 has also been obtained by AGB and shows some of the core mechanics of the coming title in action.

The action platforming title was initially supposed to arrive in 2015, but the development process has hit a number of hurdles that have forced the development teams working on it to push it back in order to deliver the quality that the fan community is expecting.

Despite the announcement of the February 6 launch date, a lot of backers are still dissatisfied with the game creation process, especially the recent platform survey that apparently has failed to reach all fans.

Mighty No. 9 was a huge Kickstarter success

Keiji Inafune is the leading developer working on the title and has promised that he is creating a game that will act as a spiritual successor to the classic Mega Man franchise.

This promise has attracted a lot of backing on Kickstarter, where the project has managed to obtain more than 4 million dollars (3.6 million Euro).

Despite the serious support, the developers have gone back to the community to ask for more money, a move that plenty of fans saw as a way to extend the development process because the game is not ready for primetime.

The involved companies have also been accused of poor communication with the fan base, which was supposed to be more involved in the development process.

Mighty No. 9 is set to offer an action platforming experience that mixes 2D and 3D characters and backgrounds.
