Microsoft has already teased some of the security announcements it’d make for Windows 10 this week at RSA, but in a blog post the company also praises the existing security features of the operating system, saying that “Windows 10 is the most secure version of Windows ever.”

This isn’t the first time we see Microsoft bragging about the security of Windows 10, and the company actually does that every once in a while, not necessarily because it wants users to upgrade their PCs to this latest OS, but also because security is indeed a priority for the firm.

Microsoft says that living proof for the high security level of Windows 10 is the growing number of enterprises that adopt it, including government customers who consider security a critical aspect of any product before deploying it.

In the case of Windows 10, Microsoft has worked together with government agencies to receive the go-ahead for being adopted by different departments, and most recently, the software giant announced that the NSA cleared the operating system for classified use.

“Windows 10 is the most secure version of Windows ever and these new additions, along with our focus on simplifying modern IT and enabling amazing experiences and devices powered by Windows 10, continue to drive deployments with customers like the US Department of Defense, Australian Department of Human Services, Kimberly-Clark, Hendrick Motorsports, Crystal Group and Aiken County Public School District, and many others,” Microsoft says.

Windows 10 Creators Update

Windows 10’s security level will receive another boost with the upcoming Creators Update, and Microsoft explains that Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection is playing an essential role in the protection that customers receive after install the operating system.

“Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection helps enterprises detect, investigate, and respond to advanced attacks on their networks. Building on the existing security features and services Windows 10, Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection provides a post-breach layer of protection to the Windows 10 security stack,” a company spokesperson told us in a mailed statement.

“With a combination of client technology built into Windows 10 and a robust cloud service, it will help detect attackers and threats that have made it past other defenses, provide enterprises with information to investigate the breach across endpoints, and offer respond.”

Windows 10 Creators Update is projected to launch in April, and Microsoft says it’s already feature-complete, so no new features would be added in the remaining weeks. Instead, the company would focus exclusively on fixing bugs and improving performance based on feedback received from insiders.
