14 DAY TRIAL // Ever since it launched the Windows Insider program in October 2014, Microsoft has been saying on every single occasion that Windows 10 is built with customer feedback, emphasizing that the community dictates what’s good and bad in the operating system.
And since this is indeed a great approach that can only please the Windows fan base, Microsoft is making another change in order to receive as much feedback as possible.
The Feedback Hub is becoming available to absolutely all Windows 10 users, on both PC and mobile, no matter if they’re running a preview build of the operating system or not.
Some categories are still missing
The Feedback Hub has become the one destination for every suggestion that users want to send to Microsoft but was previously exclusively available for insiders who were running preview builds and had tons of feedback for the company.
But starting this week, the Feedback Hub is being offered to retail users as well, which kind of makes sense, given the fact that they might want to get in touch with the company too and share their thoughts on specific features of the operating system.
Certain categories in the Feedback Hub will not be available, however, as they’re more appropriate for insiders, but retail users will still get access to most of the app.
Microsoft has been improving the app with almost every single new build, and 14342 brings suggestions for categories whenever posting new feedback.
“We’ve heard from you that it can sometimes be hard to find which category your feedback belongs in. Now when you create new feedback, the Feedback Hub will suggest categories and subcategories based on the title and description you entered. If you see a suggestion that looks right, just click it to fill in the menus and get your feedback to the right engineers quickly,” Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, said when 14342 was released.
More improvements will definitely be implemented in the builds ahead of the Anniversary Update coming in the summer, when most of the received feedback should be addressed in one way or another for Windows 10 users.
