With Windows 10 Mobile, Microsoft is trying to revamp its smartphone portfolio from the ground up, so in addition to a new operating system and a new range of phones, it’s only natural to expect a new series of accessories designed to work with the first two.

Four new Windows Phone accessories have leaked today, and their names are just as interesting as their purpose: Valora, Munchkin, Murano and Livana.

MicroosftInsider.es has obtained some official photos showing these accessories, and at least one of them is particularly important for the success of the upcoming Windows 10 Mobile platform.

First and foremost, Valora is said to be Microsoft’s new-generation Treasure Tag, which allows users to keep track of their luggage by pairing the tag with a Windows Phone device via Bluetooth. It turns out that this new model is expected to come with a new feature called “Motion Guard,” which could provide notifications when the Treasure Tag is moved.

Continuum for Phones

Murano, on the other hand, is likely to be an HD-10 screen sharing and Miracast device, as this feature is playing a key role in Microsoft’s strategy with Windows 10 Mobile, especially because it wants to make its future platform better in terms of productivity and in the office.

Livana is very likely to be a new wireless Bluetooth speaker that would help Windows 10 Mobile users make the most of new apps such as Groove, which will bring music capabilities on all devices running Windows 10.

But the most interesting is certainly Munchkin. According to the aforementioned source, this particular device is likely to be the necessary hardware for Continuum for Phones, a feature that allows users to connect a Windows 10 Mobile device to a Windows 10 PC and start working on the phone with a mouse and keyboard, mirroring its interface on the actual desktop computer.

Microsoft has already confirmed that new hardware will be needed for Continuum for Phones and that Windows Phone models currently on the market won’t support it, so this could be the new thing to make this possible.

Redmond is yet to confirm whether these codenames are true or not, but it’s pretty clear that Microsoft is working to revamp the whole Windows 10 Mobile portfolio, so chances are that they are indeed legitimate.
