Plus a series of other smaller tweaks to refine experience

The Windows Store app has just received an important update on Windows 10 that brings some pretty helpful improvements, including interactive notifications that allow users to launch the app or pin it to Start.

Currently at version 11703.1000.156.0 and released for Fast ring insiders, the new Windows Store app comes with new notifications that allow users to interact with the apps they install faster than before.

Previously, once an app got installed on Windows 10, users received a notification telling them the install process came to an end, and a click or tap on this notification launched the app instantly. Starting with this update, however, the notification comes with two separate options, namely launch and pin to Start, both of which are displayed in the Action Center as well.

In addition to these new notifications, the Windows Store also comes with a new progress bar displaying the download speed and the size, with the new design looking a bit sleeker as compared to the original design that needed more space on the screen.

New “share” option

And last but not least, there’s a new share option displayed for each app that lets you send a link to one of your contacts. This is an option that already exists in rival app stores, such as the one belonging to Apple, so it’s a good thing that Microsoft is now releasing it as well.

Given that this update is currently available for insiders only, retail users will receive it at a later time, though we expect this to happen with the Creators Update's debut on April 11. Microsoft has improved several of its apps with help from insiders and the release of the Creators Update is the moment when retail users would be able to try them out as well, so the new Store update comes just at the right time.

For what it’s worth, the Creators Update will also launch later today for users who want to do the update manually with the Windows 10 Update Assistant.
