Android and iOS users certainly agree that SwiftKey is the absolute best keyboard on these platforms, and as weird as it might sound since it belongs to Microsoft, it’s actually not available on Windows phones.

And while Microsoft promises to offer some sort of integration between SwiftKey and its signature WordFlow keyboard sometime in the future, including on Windows phones, the company keeps improving the versions available on Android and iOS with new features.

Today, it’s the turn of the beta version for Android to receive Microsoft’s attention, as the company has introduced a new feature called Clipboard that comes in very handy when trying to copy paste items into conversations.

New Clipboard features

First and foremost, what does this Clipboard feature do? As you could easily guess from its name, the Clipboard helps you manage content that you copy and paste across the operating system, so it introduces a new capability that remembers the snippets you copy for one hour.

What’s more, there is a new Hub available in SwiftKey that provides access to your saved clipboard items, so you can easily save the ones that are relevant to you and that could be used at a later time in a new conversation.

There are also options to copy multiple snippets without losing any of them, and you are even allowed to pin the ones you want to keep for longer. And obviously, SwiftKey for Android now has dedicated options that enable you to add your own items in the Clipboard, such as email address and phone number, so if you need such information when filling in a form, you can easily insert them in a second.

It’s important to note that these are all features of the beta version of SwiftKey, but at some point in the future, they will also debut for users of the stable build. It all depends on feedback and on how the development of the beta version advances.
