14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has started testing a major update for its Arrow Android launcher before it releases it to all users in the coming weeks.
Microsoft Arrow 3.0 is the “biggest release yet,” Microsoft says in the official changelog posted in the Google Play Store, explaining that this new version comes with several improvements, including the ability to select vertical or horizontal scrolling for the apps page.
Additionally, version 3.0 beta comes with a brand-new utility page that allows pinning utility cards as individual pages or customizing them even further, as well as small changes to the backup and restore feature.
What’s important to know, however, is that Microsoft Arrow version 3.0.0.30855 is not the first release of the 3.0 update, so the changelog was posted earlier this month when the first build was published.
Not the first 3.0 release
Specifically, the update from Arrow Launcher version 2.9 to 3.0 took place on February 21 when version 3.0.0.30784 was officially published online, while a day later the company released version 3.0.0.30808. Version 3.0.0.30855, which is the current one, was rolled out on February 23.
In other words, “the biggest release yet,” as Microsoft calls it, is not the current build, but version 3.0 altogether. For the moment, however, it’s still part of the beta channel, but it’s probably just a matter of time until the public version gets the go-ahead as well.
