Microsoft recently released Hyperlapse application for Android devices in Google Play Store, but also announced that the Windows Phone version received an important update.

Since its launch back in May, the Android version of Hyperlapse has been in beta testing, but Windows Phone users have been treated with the full release in all that time.

There's a catch though, as the application was not available to all Lumia smartphones. When Microsoft launched Hyperlapse a few months ago, only those with Lumia phones powered by Windows Phone 8.1 could download and install the application.

In late May, Microsoft released a new update for Hyperlapse for Windows Phone, which made the application compatible with Lumia Icon as well.

As of this week, those who own smartphones with Windows Phone 8.1 that originally shipped with Windows Phone 8, including Lumia 920 and Lumia 1020, can now install the application, too.

According to Microsoft, “the mobile Windows Phone app has just been updated so those Lumia owners can now have full creative rein to record and save their first-person videos in multiple speeds and share them with their friends and family.”

But that's not all, as developers announced that the new version of Hyperlapse for Windows Phone includes increases in video-recording limits as well as algorithm improvements, which are meant to make the application even easier to use.

Even though the application now supports a wide range of Lumia smartphones, including those powered by 512MB of RAM, these devices can't capture video at HD resolutions.

However, the rest of the Lumia smartphones should be able to capture video in HD resolutions without any issues.

You can now download Hyperlapse for Windows Phone for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8.1 and up.
