Redmond is working to refine the Windows 10 UI

Microsoft has already introduced a new icon set in Windows 10, but the company doesn’t want to stop here and is now working to refine the entire UI in the operating system with another update.

Screenshots that have been published online by Twitter user @cadenzza92 and coming from an unreleased build reveal several new icons that Microsoft has prepared for Windows 10, but also other visual tweaks that will be part of an upcoming update.

Right now, it seems that these changes will be first introduced in an insider build, so Windows 10 testers will be the first to get them, while everyone else can benefit from them at a later time, depending on the received feedback.

As you can see in the screenshots below, Windows 10 is scheduled to get refined icons in the key areas of the operating system, so a new printing, personalization, keyboard, and other device icons are all expected to be released.

At the same time, the software giant’s also working on improving the personalization screen, so in these screenshots, for example, Microsoft is using a bigger preview window than in the current builds.

New animations and visual effects

This isn’t the only change that Microsoft prepares for its new operating system, as new visual effects and animations for Windows 10 are also in the works right now.

Word has it that Microsoft wants to introduce animations for opening and closing store apps, as this feature is currently available only for Win32 apps, so what Redmond’s trying to do is offer a similar experience across the entire operating system and not only when working with a specific set of apps.

Some other improvements are also expected, but more information should emerge in the coming weeks, ahead of their release. The first big update for Windows 10 is likely to launch in late October or November, but in the meantime, expect several other cumulative updates and feature improvements.
