The Surface Studio could land in France in July, though

Microsoft launched the Surface Studio all-in-one PC with much fanfare last October, but until now, availability of the device has been incredibly limited, with only those in the United States being able to get one from the Microsoft Store.

Redmond has remained completely tight-lipped on plans to launch the Surface Studio elsewhere, though it was very clear this was the plan from the very beginning.

And now, according to a new report, the Surface Studio is projected to launch in France in July, while more European markets could get it in September. Microsoft hasn’t yet confirmed this report, and the timing seems to be a little bit awkward, but we’ve reached out to the company for more information and we’ll post an update if an answer is offered.

Microsoft trying to align production with demand

On the other hand, given the demand in the United States, bringing the Surface Studio in Europe in the fall appears to be just about right. For example, the top Surface Studio configuration ships in the United States after May 15, according to the Microsoft Store, so the company struggles to align production with demand right now.

Launching the Surface Studio in Europe nearly one year after its unveiling in the United States is a decision that’s criticized by many, especially because the device uses the previous generation of Intel processors and new models running Kaby Lake are already prepared by other OEMs.

Despite the older chips, the Surface Studio is a productivity monster anyway, coming with a 28-inch PixelSense display with 4500x3000 resolution, Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, up to 32GB RAM and a maximum of 2TB storage, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M 2GB GPU GDDR5 memory or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M 4GB GPU GDDR5 memory, support for Windows Hello, a Zero Gravity hinge, a built-in SD card reader and so many other goodies that make it the perfect choice for enterprises.

The Surface Studio is quite an expensive device, as pricing in the United States starts at $2,999 and goes all the way up to $4,199 for the top-of-the-range configuration.
