Microsoft introduced its very first laptop, the so-called Surface Book, today, and the device is already up for pre-order at the company's online store.
But today's hardware event took place at maximum speed, pretty much because the company had little time to announce so many devices, so Panos Panay, the man in charge with the Devices unit at Microsoft, didn't disclose some of the specs of the new Surface Book.
Described as “the ultimate laptop,” the Surface Book comes with a 13.5-inch PixelSense display with a resolution of 3000x2000 pixels and a 3:2 aspect ratio. The display supports 10-point multi-touch.
It comes in multiple configurations, and you can choose between i5 and i7, both part of Intel's sixth-generation processors, with two RAM options, 8GB or 16 GB.
As far as graphics are concerned, the i5 versions come with Intel HD Graphics 520, but a second version is offered with NVIDIA GeForce Graphics processors.
In terms of storage, there are four choices here, starting with 128GB and ending with 1TB. That's right, 1TB of storage space, but obviously, only for the top-of-the-range model.
