Old feedback removed from the Windows Feedback app

Now that Windows 10 is alive and kicking and anyone can install it right away, Microsoft can finally focus a little bit more on the mobile version, which according to sources should see daylight in October.

But this doesn't necessarily mean that Redmond is no longer interested in the PC build, as the company has already confirmed that its Windows Insider program continues and new testing builds would be delivered to registered users in the coming weeks.

And yet, the company has remained tight-lipped on the timing of this release, but in a statement provided during the weekend, it sort of confirms that a new build is just around the corner.

As many have noticed, old suggestions posted in the Windows Feedback app have been removed and right now, you can only see the feedback submitted by users in the past two weeks.

All feedback is stored

Microsoft says that this is because it struggles to keep things clean and organized, as a new build will soon be delivered to users and working with new feedback is more important.

“After the launch of Windows 10 and in preparation for continued flighting of PC builds to Windows Insiders, we have taken the opportunity to clear out the older feedback that we received early on in our product development cycle from the search results that get returned within the Windows Feedback app,” the company said (emphasis is ours).

The old feedback isn't gone, the company explained, as all suggestions are still stored on the servers and engineers can check them out whenever they want.

“The feedback that has been previously provided is still stored in our backend systems. Engineers are using it to find and filter on key feedback for their areas,” it said.

The first post-RTM Windows 10 build is expected sometime this month, so if you haven't yet opted out of the Windows Insider program, more updates should show up on your PC very soon.
