This would be the most expensive Surface ever

The Surface Pro 3 is currently the most expensive Surface version when choosing the top-of-the-range configuration, as it costs nearly $2,000 (€1,500) in the United States. If we’re looking at the full Surface lineup, the Surface Hub is 10 times more expensive, with the high-end version priced at $20,000.

But if you’re looking for a Surface that’s really expensive, you can choose a Surface 3 with 64 GB of storage space from the official Microsoft UK store, as a weird bug is increasing the device’s price to £77,777 /($122,150 / €110,000).

First spotted by The Register, the bug appears to exist only for the 64 GB and 128 GB versions with LTE support, and the new price is displayed when reviewing your order. What’s more surprising is that the bug has been there for nearly 20 hours, but expect it to be fixed today (given UK’s time zone, Microsoft UK staff should arrive at work at about this time, so they’ve most likely already heard about the bug).

What happens if you buy it?

What’s more interesting, however, is what happens if someone actually proceeds with the order and actually buys the Surface 3 at this price. If Microsoft indeed gets the money, obviously, if you have it on your credit card, expect a refund, as this is clearly a mistake that wasn’t supposed to happen, and the Surface 3 could only cost this if it were covered in gold.

The Surface 3 is the more affordable brother of the Pro 3 and comes in two different storage versions, with 64 GB or 128 GB. Both come with a special LTE version that provides you with an Internet connection on the go, obviously for extra money.

Pricing for the Surface 3 starts at $499 (€380) in the United States but can vary by market, depending on taxes.
