Microsoft's trying to make the most of the back-to-school shopping season with some pretty big price cuts on several markets across the globe, including the United Kingdom, where the Surface Pro 3 is now benefiting from some pretty huge price cuts.

All but one Surface Pro 3 models are getting sliced prices, so in case you were planning to purchase a 2-in-1 device running Windows 8.1 and fully upgradeable to Windows 10, this is pretty much the best moment.

The top-of-the-range Surface Pro 3, which comes with an Intel Core i7 processor, 512 GB of storage space, and 8GB of RAM, now costs only 1,399 pounds ($2,190 / €1,950) in the UK, a discount of 150 pounds ($235 / 210 euros).

The full price of the Surface Pro 3 lineup is below:

Intel Core i7 / 512GB / 8GB RAM, (was £1,549) now £1,399 (£150 discount) Intel Core i7 / 256GB / 8GB RAM, (was £1,299) now £1,179 (£120 discount) Intel Core i5 / 256GB / 8GB RAM, (was £1,079) now £979 (£100 discount) Intel Core i5 / 128GB / 4GB RAM, (was £849) now £769 (£80 discount) Intel Core i3 / 64GB / 4GB RAM, £639 - no change

While Microsoft hasn't said it clearly, this could also be a way to clear up inventories for the next Surface model, which, according to sources, should see daylight later this year.

The Surface Pro 4 is expected to continue Microsoft's premium laptop replacement approach and will come with very powerful hardware, including Intel's Skylake processor.

The device will come with a 12-inch display or even larger and a digital pen will continue to be offered in order for Microsoft to make it easier to draw or write just like on a piece of paper. The debut should take place in October or November, otherwise Microsoft might push it to early 2016.
