Microsoft’s Solitaire Collection, a modern interpretation of the famous Solitaire game, has reached 100 million players around the globe, just ahead of the expected launch on Android and iOS that’s likely to take place in the coming months.

According to Microsoft, who wanted to celebrate this special moment by sharing some stats about the game, no less than 55 million Microsoft Solitaire Collection games are being played every day, which means that Solitaire players start 20 billion games each year, 2.29 million each hour, and 38,194 each minute.

Still no date when the game could be launched on iOS

And because users around the world seem to like Solitaire so much, Microsoft is also debuting a new mode called “Events,” which will become available this fall - the chances are that it could go live when the company introduces the iOS and Android versions of the game.

“The Solitaire team is introducing a new game mode called Events, available this fall. If you’ve ever wanted to play Solitaire while winning awards and seeing how you stack up against your friends and the community, now’s your chance to get in on the action. With Events, you can play your favorite games and build your Solitaire legacy,” the company says.

Microsoft is now working to bring Solitaire Collection on Android and iOS, but the software giant hasn’t yet provided a release date when players on non-Windows platforms could get it.

The company is trying to conduct a private beta testing of the iOS and Android port of Solitaire as part of the Casual Games Inner Circle program, and it turns out that only some users are invited via email to try out this new version.

This is part of Microsoft’s efforts to bring its apps and services beyond Windows, and it has stated on several occasions that investing in Android and iOS is a priority, with the majority of its apps already available for users with iPhones or phones and tablets powered by Google’s OS.
