Report claims the firm could deliver final build this week

Now that both the PC version of Windows 10 and the Threshold 2 update are alive and kicking, Microsoft’s hard at work to finalize work on the mobile version of the operating system, and according to a new report, this is very likely to happen sometime this week.

Redmond hasn’t said anything about the release date of Windows 10 Mobile, but the company suggested via its Lumia Facebook account that the rollout for Windows Phone devices could begin in December, so these new rumors come to confirm that Microsoft’s previous hints were indeed accurate.

Italian blog AggiornamentiLumia (via WMPU) has linked to a video (which you can find below, but note that it's in Italian) that allegedly shows a Microsoft employee confirming that the company is set to deliver a new Windows 10 Mobile build later this week, suggesting that this could very well be the last release before RTM (the Windows Insider program for mobile devices will continue after RTM though).

Specifics are obviously missing for the time being, and it’s worth noting that Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, hasn’t yet announced any new builds for Windows 10 Mobile.

Usually, the company doesn’t roll out new preview builds on Monday, Friday, and on weekends, so it’s either today or tomorrow if this new report is indeed true.

Windows Phone update schedule

According to other unconfirmed rumors coming via Orange Poland this time, Microsoft could release Windows 10 Mobile in waves, with the first batch of Windows Phone devices to get it this month and include models such as Lumia 640 and 1520.

On the other hand, the former flagship Lumia 930 will be part of the second wave, which could only arrive in February 2016 as Microsoft reportedly has more work to do on a certain number of devices.

Remember that these are all rumors and Microsoft is yet to confirm any of them, so take everything with a pinch of salt until the company says anything about the release of Windows 10 Mobile.
