Redmond allowed us to vote for the next Windows casual game

Microsoft is all about feedback these days, so the company recently launched a new program to allow users across the world to vote for the next casual game that would be bundled into Windows.

Today, the company has announced that the most voted option was “Microsoft Ultimate Word Games,” a collection of several games that include multiplayer tournaments, daily changes, achievements, and more.

While Microsoft hasn't disclosed the number of votes other games received (we personally voted for casino games and chess), the company does say that most of the entries were pretty close to each other, so choosing the most popular one was a difficult decision.

“We tallied up the votes and it was *extremely* close but, in the end, the game that was voted for most, and the game we will build next is Microsoft Ultimate Word Games!” the company announces.

At the same time, Microsoft has also re-announced its new Casual Games Inner Circle, which is a game testing program that allows users across the world to test new titles before they go live.

“As a member of our Inner Circle, we will gather your opinions and feedback on game features and designs, and you’ll get early access to beta builds. We look forward to working with you on creating Microsoft Ultimate Word Games and hope to have more opportunities for our community to vote on which games we make in the future,” it explains.

For the moment, it's not yet clear when the Microsoft Ultimate Word Games will arrive in Windows, but the Redstone update coming in the summer of 2016 seems like the right moment to see it go live. Redstone will also bring a huge number of improvements to Windows anyway, so adding a new casual game to the list just seems to make sense.
