The company presents Fluent Design for Web Framework

Fluent Design System is Microsoft's big visual overhaul coming in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, and some apps have already started receiving a series of updates like translucency in certain parts of the UI.

But it turns out that Fluent Design is not just about Windows 10, but also about the web, with Microsoft today announcing that the Web Framework will also be updated with the same components, including Depth, Motion, Scale, Material, and Light.

Microsoft says on the official presentation website that Scale would arrive at a later time, though an ETA for when the Web Framework would bring Fluent Design is not yet available.

The videos you can see below (via MSPU) show how Fluent Design would work in your browser, with Microsoft likely planning to bring the same improvements and visual overhaul across all of its services.

Fluent Design improvements

Even though apps have already started receiving it, Fluent Design is not all about translucency. Microsoft has already announced that some other visual effects, including animations and other tweaks, would also be part of the restyled user interface, with insiders to be the first experiencing it in the coming preview builds of Windows 10.

The production ring should see the full Fluent Design package in the fall when Microsoft releases the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, whose final compiling date seems to be September.

As far as the web is concerned, it would obviously take a lot longer for Microsoft to bring Fluent Design across its full portfolio of websites and services, though there's a good chance that the company is already working on this behind closed doors. The firm could be planning to complete the overhaul of all web services and Windows 10 at the same time and introduce it to everyone later this year when the next update for the operating system goes live.
