The Windows 10 Creators Update is just around the corner and Microsoft is now getting ready to compile the RTM build and ship it to insiders, but for the first time, the company has also started posting documentation that would prepare retail users for the upgrade.

One of the latest posts reveals the features that were removed or deprecated in Windows 10 Creators Update, with the software giant saying this list is specifically aimed at IT professionals who are working in a commercial environment and thus need to prepare their networks for the upgrade.

The list also includes some consumer-oriented features, such as Reading List, which was introduced with much fanfare in Windows 8 but which is now flagged as deprecated. Additionally, there’s also the Apps Corner, also marked as deprecated, plus some Flash changes, as autorun has been turned off in Edge and Click to Run is being used to protect users.

Creators Update coming soon™

Microsoft also says that it’s removing WSUS for Windows Mobile, with updates being transitioned to the new Unified Update Platform (UUP) that’s being tested with help from insiders.

“[These are] features and functionalities in the Windows 10 Creators Update edition [that] have either been removed from the product in the current release (‘Removed’) or are not in active development and are planned for potential removal in subsequent releases (‘Deprecated’),” Microsoft explains.

The Windows 10 Creators Update is projected to launch next month, possibly on April 11, but insiders will get the RTM build as soon as next week.

A new build is likely to ship to insider PCs this week, though, but it’s not yet known if this is going to be the RTM or just another preview build that gets us closer to this milestone.

Windows 10 Mobile devices will also get the Creators Update, but Microsoft says this would only happen at a later time, as PCs are the company’s priority for the moment. An ETA as to when smartphones should get the Creators Update is yet to be provided.
