Microsoft recently rolled out not only a new cumulative update for Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, but also three different smaller updates that bring improvements to various features of the operating system.

Windows 10 updates KB4054022, KB4055237, and KB4052342 are specifically aimed at version 1709 and were rolled out on November 30 on Windows Update and on the Microsoft Update Catalog.

Very little is being told about what they do precisely, but the official KB pages indicate that KB4054022 “makes stability improvements for the Windows 10 version 1709 servicing stack,” while KB4055237 is a compatibility update for upgrading to and recovering Windows 10 version 1709.

Last but not least, KB4052342 is a compatibility update for upgrading to Windows 10 version 1709, according to Microsoft.

These updates do not require a computer reboot and users are recommended to install them as soon as possible, especially if they experienced issues with the upgrade/update process to or on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

New cumulative update also available

The rollout of Windows 10 version 1709 started on October 17 globally, with Microsoft shipping the new OS version to PCs in stages, as it wants to collect feedback and address compatibility issues, be they hardware or software, before everyone gets it.

Such updates aren’t surprising, but Microsoft hasn’t provided any specifics as to whether they address bugs reported by those who tried to install the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

As for cumulative update KB4051963, also released on November 30, it bumps operating system version number to 16299.98 and includes a series of fixes aimed at bugs impact gaming, printing with Dot Matrix printers, browsing with Internet Explorer, and other default apps.

The cumulative update does require a system reboot and it also comes with a known issue that’s expected to be addressed when Microsoft releases new updates as part of Patch Tuesday later this month.
