New build for users in the Fast and Skip Ahead rings

Microsoft has just released a new build for Windows Insiders in the Fast and Skip Ahead rings, though it’s worth noting that AMD processors that were impacted by bugs with Meltdown and Spectre updates won’t be getting it.

There are lots of new features coming in this build, and one of the most important is the redesigned localization of Windows. Language packs are now available in the Microsoft Store and the Language section of the Settings app, with the company turning to Artificial Intelligence and neural network-based Machine Learning to improve the feature.

“Having the Local Experience Packs in the Microsoft Store allows us to take advantage of ML improvements and user feedback via Language Community App to release better translations more frequently. This will consistently improve the experience of our international customers with Windows,” Dona Sarkar, head of the Windows Insider program, explains.

Microsoft Edge browser refinements

Just like with every build, Microsoft Edge browser is getting its own set of improvements. The Hub view in the browser has received a facelift to show more content, and the application now offers autofill cards on web forms, including for payments.

Microsoft guarantees that all card information is securely stored and the CVV is never saved, with all cards linked to the Microsoft Account automatically included in this new feature as well.

The reading experience for EPUB, PDF, and Reading View has been refined with a number of features, including a pop-over menu for Notes, while a new button called Grammar Tools helps break words into syllables and highlight parts of speech.

There are lots of other improvements for Edge in this build, including auto-filling of saved passwords and extensions when browsing in an InPrivate window and options to never save passwords for domains.

Another worthy update in this build is the addition of Quiet Hours refinements, such as the feature turning on automatically when duplicating displays or when playing a full screen exclusive DirectX game. There are also options to see what you missed while in Quiet Hours, as well as Cortana able to automatically enable the feature when you arrive home.

There are several other improvements, refinements, and known bugs, and you can check the entire list in the box after the jump.
