14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has just released a new Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (Redstone 3) preview build for insiders in the Fast ring, the second of the week, but this time focusing entirely on bug fixes and performance improvements.
Windows 10 build 16275 is aimed at the Fast ring, but Microsoft says that users in the Skip Ahead channel could also get it, though they shouldn’t, as doing this would make it unable to re-join Skip Ahead.
It sounds a little bit complex, but the general idea is that Skip Ahead users shouldn’t get this build because they could be kicked from the program and then be unable to join it.
As far as the changes included in the build, there’s nothing too exciting, though there are a few fixes and improvements that are certainly welcome.
What’s new in this build?
For example, Microsoft has addressed an issue with the taskbar that got super-thick when starting the PC with an external monitor with a different DPI connected. Furthermore, there are fixes for Microsoft Edge, Asphalt 8 racing game, and mouse sensitivity, and insiders in the Fast ring should definitely give them a try.
“We are now at the point of the development cycle for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update where our focus is now on stabilization for release to the world. This means that we intend to release new builds to Insiders more quickly and that these builds will include mostly bug fixes. You’ll notice that this build includes a bunch of good bug fixes Insiders will enjoy,” Dona Sarkar, the head of the Windows Insider program, explained in a post.
The Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is projected to be finalized in September, so the next few builds would be entirely focused on fixing bugs and improving performance. This means no new features would see daylight anymore, and all Microsoft wants right now is feedback on anything that goes wrong in these preview builds to have it fixed before the public launch.
