Microsoft has rolled out a new preview build of the upcoming Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, this time with so many more improvements, including a bunch of new features.

First and foremost, Windows 10 build 16199 refines the My People experience with some new goodies, including emoji from pinned contacts. Whenever someone pinned to the taskbar sends you an emoji, you see it directly on the desktop - this is an option that you can disable from the taskbar settings if you find it too intrusive.

Then, contact icons now feature notification badges, while sharing has been enhanced by allowing users to simply drag and drop files on the contacts in the taskbar.

There are also improved game settings, and you can broadcast using game-only audio, while the Audio settings page has been renamed to Game DVR.

In terms of changes for the Settings app, the About screen is now integrated with the System Health, so you can check out virus and threat protection, firewall, device performance, and app and browser control.

More “ads”?

Additionally, the Settings app now shows tips and video, but this is a feature that is very likely to become annoying to users. It’s just a matter of time until people start calling these ads, so it’s a risky move from Microsoft.

“More content is being added all the time and we’re really hoping to get your help figuring out the best tip content for each page. If you have an idea of a tip that would help your least techie friend or family member, please provide us feedback through the feedback hub! Note: Depending on the size of the Settings window, you will find the tips either at the bottom of the page, or on the side,” the company says.

And one last update concerns Android phones, as this build makes it possible to display incoming call notifications using Cortana on devices powered by Google’s OS. Of course, Cortana needs to be running on both the PC and the phone with the same account.

There are many more improvements, bug fixes, and known issues, and you can check them out in the box after the jump.
