Microsoft has just released a new Windows 10 Mobile update for public users that pushes OS version to 14393.448 and brings bug fixes and performance improvements.

What’s important to note is that this is just a cumulative update, so it doesn’t bring any new features, but only fixes and improvements that are supposed to refine the experience we get with the operating system.

Microsoft hasn’t provided too many details about this new cumulative update, but it says that it’s the mobile sibling of KB3200790, an update that was released for PCs and which increases the operating system version to 14393.447.

“This update is published for Windows 10 Mobile. It includes the same improvements and fixes from the update listed as November 8, 2016 - KB3200790 (OS Build 14393.447) that was published for Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016,” Microsoft said in a statement.

No mobile-specific changes

Oddly enough, the official changelog for Windows 10 build 14393.447 (cumulative update KB3200790) does not include any mobile-specific changes, so it’s hard to tell what exactly is new on devices running Windows 10 Mobile and installing this particular build. You can see the full changelog of cumulative update KB3200790 in the box at the end of the article.

But even so, users are recommended to download and install it on their devices as soon as possible, mostly because it includes fixes and improvements that can indeed refine how the operating system works on supported devices. We’ve already installed this new update on the HP Elite X3 and the Lumia 950 XL, but we didn’t notice anything new, so it’s all just under-the-hood work that’s supposed to improve Windows 10 Mobile performance.

If you want to download this new update on your Windows 10 Mobile device as well, just go to Settings > Update and security > Update. A phone reboot will be required when the process is completed, and the whole process takes approximately 5 minutes.
