Same build as 14342, but with small improvements

Microsoft has released a new build of Windows 10 Mobile for insiders enrolled in the fast ring, but this time, it only brings small improvements on select devices.

As you could easily figure out by simply looking at the version name, Windows 10 Mobile build 14342.1003 is based on the original 14342 version that Microsoft shipped earlier this week, so it kind of makes sense to only get a handful of improvements and nothing more.

And according to Microsoft, “this build is exactly the same but with some additional fixes to improve reliability on devices.” No other details have been provided, but insiders are anyway recommended to download it as soon as possible because bug fixes and enhancements always come in handy.

Gabe Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, hasn’t specifically said what’s been fixed in this build, so it’s just a minor release and nothing more. A new build with more improvements and new features is expected to land in the coming days on both PCs and mobile.

What’s new in Windows 10 Mobile build 14342

To refresh your memory, Windows 10 Mobile build 14342 comes with three significant improvements.

First of all, it introduces swipe gesture navigation support for Microsoft Edge, thus making it possible to simply go back to the previous page or forward to the next one by swiping across the screen in Edge browser.

Then, it comes with support for apps for websites, which means that whenever you load a website having a dedicated app running on your phone, you are prompted to launch that app instead of seeing the page in your browser. Of course, this isn’t mandatory, but it comes in handy for a better experience on mobile.

And last, there are improvements for the Feedback Hub, which now features suggestions for categories based on the text you input. This should help insiders sending feedback, but also Microsoft itself, as the submitted suggestions are now supposed to be organized better.
