Microsoft has just released new Windows 10 cumulative updates for the Anniversary Update (1607) and Creators Update (1703) to introduce a series of quality improvements.

Windows 10 Creators Update is getting cumulative update KB4093117, which pushes build number to 15063.1058 and comes with a long change log that you can read in full in the box after the jump.

But several improvements are still worth highlighting, including a fix for an issue that caused Microsoft Edge browser to become unresponsive a few seconds after launch when running a software restriction policy.

Most of the changes in this cumulative update are aimed at enterprises, as it’s the case of a bugfix for Windows Hello. The company says that it discovered a bug which prevented Windows Hello “from generating good keys when it detects weak cryptographic keys because of TPM firmware issues. This issue only occurs if the policy to require the TPM is configured.”

Cumulative update KB4093117 should fix this problem on systems running the Creators Update, while also bringing reliability improvements for Internet Explorer and fixing potential leaks caused by opening and closing a new web browser control.

No known issues

KB4093120, which is aimed at systems running Windows 10 Anniversary Update, comes with several improvements that are part of the Creators Update update as well, while also bringing some exclusive fixes as well. For instance, it increases the minimum password length in Group Policy to 20 characters, and resolves pairing bugs for low-energy Bluetooth device as well as unnamed issues in Microsoft Outlook.

This cumulative update pushes OS version number to 14393.2214 and is only shipped to PCs with the Education or Enterprise SKUs of Windows 10 Anniversary Update, as Home and Pro have already reached end of support.

There are no known issues in these two updates, and it’ll certainly be interesting to see if everything goes smoothly for Windows 10 users given that several cumulative updates published on Patch Tuesday failed to install.
