It’s Patch Tuesday, so it’s time for new cumulative updates for Windows 10, which means that users who are running Microsoft’s latest operating system are getting lots of security fixes addressing known vulnerabilities.

This month, Microsoft has released four different cumulative updates for each version of Windows 10 released so far, and it goes without saying that users are recommended to install the one that’s appropriate for their system as soon as possible.

The new cumulative updates are KB4022725, KB4022715, KB4022714, and KB4022727, and are released to Windows 10 Creators Update, Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Windows 10 November Update, and Windows 10 RTM, respectively.

Bumping Windows versions

The list of changes is mostly about security fixes, but there are also bug fixes that are worth having a look at. We’re going to detail each update separately, so have a look at the end of the article for updates to see what each of them is all about.

What’s important to know for now is that every update bumps the Windows 10 version, so installing the KB4022725 cumulative update brings your system to version 15063.413. In its turn, Windows 10 cumulative update KB4022715 pushes system version to 14393.1358.

No new features are included in these cumulative updates, and installing any of them brings a computer fully up to date, as all the previously-released fixes are also included. This is one of the reasons cumulative updates are growing in size with every release, though Microsoft has also started offering delta updates that include only the improvements introduced since the previous cumulative update.

There are no reports of failed installs just yet, but we’re keeping an eye out on the main feedback channels, so we’ll let you know if there is anything to share on this front. Without a doubt, however, users should install these cumulative updates as soon as possible, given that today’s release is all about security.
