It’s Patch Tuesday, so it’s time for new cumulative updates for Windows 10 users, hopefully bringing not only improvements but also fixes for the installation issues that so many of us experienced in the past.

Cumulative updates are known for causing installation problems and other errors on Windows 10 PCs, but it remains to be seen if this is the case with today’s releases as well.

The December 2016 cumulative updates are KB3206632 (for 1607), KB3205386 (for 1511), and KB3205383 (for RTM), and all of them are released via Windows Update right now - of course, you’ll receive only the one corresponding to the Windows version you are running.

We’ve already installed the 1607 version and everything seems to be running smoothly, but as usual, it remains to be seen if the other users experience any issues or not.

Second cumulative update for 1607 in a week

Microsoft rolled out another cumulative update for Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version 1607) only a few days ago as KB3201845, so this new one comes to bring even more improvements on computers that are already running this version of the OS.

What’s worth knowing, however, is that KB3201845 experienced plenty of issues, with many users complaining that they were unable to install this on their devices. There were also reports that this update broke down the Internet connection for some users, so hopefully the cumulative update released today comes to fix all these problems.

As usual, cumulative updates include all the previous fixes, so if you install the one shipped today, your computer is fully up-to-date, even if previously you were unable to install an older version.

These cumulative updates are available right now via Windows Update and users are recommended to install them as soon as possible. A system reboot will be necessary, so make sure you save your work before anything else.
