Redmond is really keen on its Windows as a Service approach

Microsoft has just released the third cumulative update for Windows 10 in approximately 17 days on the market, which is living proof that the company is very keen on its new Windows as a Service approach that's supposed to bring us updates at a very fast pace.

Redmond, however, hasn't provided any kind of information on this new update, or it's a little bit too early to get the documentation on it, as the rollout started only a few minutes ago.

Right now, there's now KB page for the update, but it shows up in Windows Update as KB 3081438, so this is the code you might want to look up on the Internet in the next few hours.

Fixes and more fixes

Since no release notes are available right now, it's believed that this update is all about fixing bugs and improving performance of the operating system, so in case there was something wrong with your Windows 10 install, just give this one a try and see if it's fixed.

Because it's a cumulative update, it contains all the previously-released improvements and if you installed the other two cumulative updates, only the new bits will be downloaded.

What's important to know is that many users reported issues with the first two cumulative updates, so if this one installs fine, then your computer should be up-to-date despite the problems you might have had with the other two.

Some users, however, are also reporting issues with today's version and 0x80070bc9 is encountered during install. Since the rollout started only a few minutes ago, it's too early to tell if it's a widespread issue or not.

As usual, the patch is available via Windows Update, so have a look there right now to get it as soon as possible and keep your computer running the latest improvements.
