Microsoft has made Office available on all big platforms, including iOS, and the company ships early versions of its updates as part of the Insider program, just like it does for Windows 10.

And today, the company rolled out a new Office Insider build for iOS, bumping version number to 2.3 (17062600) and implementing a series of new features for Apple users.

What’s new in the latest preview build?

First and foremost, it’s important to note that this new update brings updates for PowerPoint, Visio, and Excel, so if you were hoping to get more improvements, you need to wait one extra month.

As far as PowerPoint is concerned, the presentation software is getting support for comments, with the app now allowing users to add, change, delete, ore reply to comments in a presentation straight from an iPhone or iPad. Then, PowerPoint is getting options to create a link to presentations, so you can use hyperlinks to easily access files or websites.

On the other hand, Visio is being updated on Apple devices with Dropbox and Box support, which are currently two of the most popular cloud-storage services out there. You can thus host your Visio files in the cloud and then open them from your iPhone with the built-in features.

And last but not least, Excel is getting some improvements as well, enabling users to insert cut or copied cells with just a tap. This feature works for whole rows and columns.

This new update is only aimed at insiders for the time being, but depending on the feedback the company collects, it should be released to everyone else in the coming weeks. Some bugs are indeed very likely, since this is early software, but on the other hand, it gives IT pros the chance to try out Office improvements before they are shipped to devices in the production ring.
