Microsoft rolled out a new batch of updates for Office, as per the company’s cycle that brings non-security patches for its productivity suite the first Tuesday of each month.

This month, Microsoft shipped a total of 26 non-security Office updates, out of which no less than 16 were aimed at Office 2016, while the remaining 10 were targeting Office 2013.

Before anything, it’s worth mentioning that these updates do not bring any new features and they do not patch security flaws, as they are only supposed to fix bugs that Microsoft discovered in the two productivity suites. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and the other productivity apps included in Office 2013 and Office 2016 are all being patched.

The download links for all updates can be found in the box at the end of the article, as they’re all posted in the Microsoft update catalog.

Security fixes coming next week

What’s also important to know is that security fixes for the Office productivity suite will be shipped the next Tuesday according to the company’s own Patch Tuesday cycle. It’s not yet known, however, if and how many updates Office is supposed to get, but this time, patches will be available via Windows Update, so more straightforward deployment will be available.

Microsoft is working on several fronts for improving the Office productivity suite, so in addition to non-security updates and security patches, the company is also working with the help of Insider programs on developing new features for every version available at the moment, including Windows and Mac.

Earlier today, for example, the software giant rolled out a new update for Mac insiders that brings support for Touch Bar in Office 2016, with stable users likely to get this feature in the upcoming weeks.
