Several apps got updates in the store this morning

Microsoft has just released a new set of updates for Windows 10 apps and all of them can be found in the store by all users running the new OS on PCs.

The apps that got updated today are Mail and Calendar, MSN News, MSN Money, MSN Weather, and MSN Sports, so Microsoft focused specifically on the MSN suite of apps for this new update batch.

But just like before, the company hasn’t provided any release notes, so while users are recommended to download and install the new versions, it’s very hard to tell what the changes delivered with these new versions are.

This is actually part of Microsoft’s new approach towards Windows 10 updates, as the company no longer provides a change log unless there is something that’s really worth mentioning inside. So the chances are that these updates are mostly focused on fixing bugs and improving performance of the apps, and this is why users are recommended to install them as soon as possible.

The new Windows Store and app updates

Windows 10 store apps are now updated regularly and that’s clearly a good thing, especially given the fact that Microsoft has now switched to “Windows as a Service,” which is supposed to bring new versions of installed apps when they are ready and without waiting for a bigger rollout.

Furthermore, the company has worked on improving the store experience by making it a universal app offering the same look and feel on both desktops and smartphones, but also by bringing more content beside apps and games. Movies, TV series, music, and soon browser extensions will also be available in the universal store on all Windows 10 devices.

As usual, Windows 10 users are recommended to install these updates as soon as possible, but in case the default store configuration is still enabled, the operating system automatically gets them on your device when they are released.
