14 DAY TRIAL // Windows 10 is just around the corner, so Microsoft is working at full speed to get it ready for the grand debut on July 29, and this means that small patches and updates arrive pretty often.
Today, the company has pushed another security update for Windows 10 that will correct vulnerabilities in a Microsoft software product, as its official description says, but only limited information is available at this moment. But given the fact that it’s a security patch, it’s mandatory for all Windows 10 users to patch their systems as soon as possible.
Just like all the other updates released by Microsoft for Windows 10, this new patch is available via Windows Update, so have a look in the settings screen to see if it arrived for you too.
A reboot might be required, so make sure that you save your work before installing it.
Windows 10 RTM
Build 10240, which was released to insiders one week ago, is believed to be the RTM version that Microsoft also shipped to OEMs to pre-install Windows 10 on their new devices projected to roll out on July 29 or shortly after that.
Microsoft itself hinted that this version might be the one, promising plenty of updates and performance improvements until July 29, when it’s set to make its debut.
And yet, the company will continue work on Windows 10 with help from insiders even after July 29, so this means that more updates and improvements will be released at a faster pace. This is part of Redmond’s new Windows as a Service approach that’s supposed to provide us with updates as soon as they’re ready, without having to wait for a few months before getting them.
The first major update for Windows 10 is expected to debut later this year, most likely in October, with plenty of improvements and optimizations for PCs.
