The Mail app received a complete makeover in Windows 10, but an update released today takes everything to the next level, as it includes a dark theme that brings it in line with the new look of the operating system.

The new dark theme for the Windows 10 Mail and Calendar apps definitely looks good, as you can see in the screenshots attached to the article, it perfectly blends into the desktop, which is what Microsoft most likely aspired to from the very beginning.

And because looks are so important these days, Microsoft isn’t stopping here. The update that has been released today also includes several new personalization settings that let you customize the application even further by changing colors and wallpapers.

As you know, the Windows 10 Mail app allows you to set up a new background, but this new version comes with several default ones from the very beginning, which means that you don’t necessarily have to pick one stored on your local drives.

New colors are being offered too

At the same time, the new personalization settings available in Windows 10 Mail let you change colors used by the app, so you can pick from a collection of 10 different hues. Additionally, there is an option that enables you to use the Window accent color for seamless integration.

Additionally, you can toggle between the light and the dark themes and set the background to cover the entire window or just the right pane where you read new messages and compose new emails.

This new version of the Windows 10 Mail app is shipped via the store, so in case you don’t have it already, simply have a look in the Downloads and updates section and get it right away. Most likely, this update also brings some other bug fixes and performance improvements, so the app should run more smoothly after installing it.
