“The net build is looking good,” Windows Insider boss says

Everyone expected Microsoft to roll out a new Windows 10 Mobile preview build this week (there’s still time for this to happen though, so fingers crossed), but it turns out that the company needed more time to address the bugs it found in the previous version in order to make sure that a more stable experience is offered to insiders with the next release.

Gabriel Aul, the head of the Windows Insider program, has said in a short tweet that Microsoft has finally managed to fix the mobile hotspot issue that was reported in build 10512, but he has provided absolutely no information on when exactly the release could take place.

“Next build is looking good. Has mobile hotspot, and most 10512 issues fixed. Perf a bit better too,” Aul has tweeted today.

The mobile hotspot feature isn’t working in build 10512 because of a bug that causes the device to fail to get a valid IP address from the phone when trying to access the Internet through a shared connection. Obviously, there will be no Internet access on your devices, but everything should work correctly in the net build, according to Microsoft.

Most bugs already fixed

What’s more, Aul has explained that Microsoft also managed to fix the remaining known bugs in Windows 10 Mobile build 10512 too and you can see the full list after the jump.

Two-factor authentication for your Microsoft account with a phone number should also work correctly in the upcoming build if all these bugs are fixed, so expect the next release to be full of patches and improvements.

Microsoft has already said that it wants to focus more on Windows 10 Mobile after the debut of the PC sibling, but until now, the company hasn’t shown any sign of changes in this regard, and builds continue to arrive at a rather slow pace.

The OS is expected to debut next month, so Microsoft still has some 30 days to make more improvements and performance optimizations.
