Users reporting issues when trying to log in to Outlook

Microsoft’s Outlook service is reportedly down for a number of users worldwide, with Australia said to be hit the hardest by what seems to be a pretty serious outage.

We couldn’t reproduce the issue here at Softpedia, and all our accounts are logging in correctly in Microsoft Outlook, which indicates that there might be an issue limited to specific regions.

A report from the Daily Mail reveals that Outlook isn’t the only service affected, so there’s a chance that the Microsoft Account services altogether are impacted by the outage, with OneDrive, Office 365, and other Microsoft products also said to be down.

When attempting to log in to their Microsoft Outlook inboxes, users are provided with an error saying that “something went wrong” and explaining that “we can’t get that information right now, please try again later.” An error code is also provided to help Microsoft address the problem.

Microsoft says a fix is on its way already

In a statement for the aforementioned source, Microsoft has confirmed that users in Australia are indeed affected by an issue with Office 365 services, but no other specifics have been provided.

“Some customers may be experiencing difficulty connecting to some O365 services and we're working to address this,” a company spokesperson was quoted as saying.

Some of the users claim that issues were first experienced yesterday and originally affected the email service exclusively, but it now seems like OneDrive and Office are also affected. Connecting to Outlook or the other affected services from phones or other devices also doesn’t work, and all of these seem to point to a problem that’s hitting Microsoft Account and not necessarily a specific service.

For the moment, there’s basically no workaround and waiting is the only option, especially because Microsoft has confirmed the problem and said that it's working to address it.
