Here's what you get when buying the new phone

Microsoft took the wraps off the new Lumia 950 and its bigger brother Lumia 950 XL earlier today at its hardware event in New York, so the company's getting ready to embark on a new journey that's supposed to help it become more relevant in mobile.

Lumia 950 is a 5.2-inch high-end phone that incorporates almost the best Microsoft has to offer right now in the mobile industry (the 950 XL sibling does come with really the best though), but given its dimensions, it could have a bigger success than the phablet.

It's no secret that many people don't want to go as far as to buy a phablet, so the 5.2-inch Lumia could really come in handy because it's easier to carry around, so let's see what the new phone is all about and if it's worth the money.

Technical specifications

As mentioned, the Lumia 950 comes with a 5.2-inch Quad HD AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, which also supports Microsoft's signature Glance Screen that displays notifications without the need to unlock the device.

Additionally, it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor running at 1.8 GHz, and also features a 20-megapixel camera with triple LED natural flash and Zeiss optics.

“With powerful camera features like Rich Capture, a triple LED natural flash, and a 20 MP sensor that has been engineered to virtually eliminate motion blur, you’ll have the confidence to capture anything. Want your pictures in sync across devices? Use the new Photos app to keep your precious memories safe and always available on your phone, PC, and tablet,” Microsoft states in the description of the phone.

It also comes with a 3,000 mAh battery with USB-C and fast charge support, and you get it up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.

The phone supports the latest in terms of new features, such as Continuum and Windows Hello. The Lumia 950 is not yet up for pre-order, but will become available later this month, with pricing to start at $549. It will be offered in two versions, white and black.
